Default Advertisements in forum sponsor threads

This isn't a huge deal, but I was curious about the placement of ads in various threads/posts. Is it random or can it be selective? It seems to me that sponsors that are posting photos and videos of their fish for sale have paid for their space and shouldn't have them partially blocked by external ads. One example is a video that Josie has up currently, I can only view 1/2 of the video-the left side of it. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but I imagine that the members involved in the site's maintenance and the sponsors don't even see the ads and may not be aware.

Can you supply a link so I can see what you are seeing more specifically? Only videos I am seeing are normal youtube videos with youtube ads on them, which if that's the case the site really can't do much about it as its a youtube thing.

Joan, I do see what you mean. In Josie's October thread in post 15. I will ensure Al knows about this. If you go full screen with the video the ad is not shown. Not sure if that helps for the time being.

Each page the ad will be on the first post (top) and the last (bottom), so to avoid your pictures or video will be blocked by ad, post them on second post and so on ... and don't let the second post is the last on your new thread

The thread I used as an example is this one:

    http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...116162-October

The ad is in the the post with the video, not YouTube related, I believe. Now I'm curious, are there photos posted with the strains and prices in the first post or just a listing? When there's an ad in a post, the entire right hand side of the post spacing is unavailable no matter what size the ad is. For what's worth, I use an iPad when on the site.

You can't go full screen because the option for doing that is on the right side of the video which doesn't show up.

My point isn't really that I can't see the photos or videos, it's also that sponsors who pay for space shouldn't have to share it with another ad blocking it.

Yup, I understand that and will ensure Al is make aware of it. Also for now double click on the video to go full screen. Worked for me with a mouse.

That doesn't work on my iPad. I just get a bigger view of 1/2 of the video.

I'm not seeing any ads there, and I don't use an ad blocker. This could be a case of malware/spyware on your personal computer. Is the ad for items you've searched for recently? Could be the malware putting ads on your pages. Like I said, I'm seeing nothing even with no adblock.

This is just on my iPad, could I actually have malware on my iPad? I thought that wasn't an issue. I turned on my limit ad tracking, but it didn't make a difference.

Joan, your ipad is ok. So is mine. I saw the same thing as a guest. When I log in I do not see it.
