Beautiful pair. Rufus
Lots of eggs....have you had wigglers yet?
-john
Not yet John, these two are still young. It took awhile for them to lay after I moved them into their own tank.
He's a bit inpatient, keeps bugging her when she attempts to lay. She's the bigger of the two and a couple of months older. Even now while they both fan the eggs he keeps trying to push her away. It's been a little over 48 hrs since this lay. Just giving them some time and see how it goes. Both a nice size for RE's.
Dave
Hi Dave, have you observed the breeding tubes on these guys?
Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
Ya Pat, you thinking two females because all the eggs. I originally have 5 female RE's and had Kenny hand pick me a male after a couple of months, so I think I'm OK.
Dave
I was Dave plus that is a large spawn. I have had two females pair up and two wild males.

You could right Pat, it' just that these two had laid in a community tank and I was sure they lasted 3 days and then were eaten. Not sure if three days is enough time to prove fertilization. I thought it was? Anyhow about to give up on these two, they just don't act like a pair. No shaking or passes! The one I assumed was a male just bugs the heck out of the one that I know is a female till finally she lays. Haven't been able to actually watch the lay yet.
I'll give them a couple more chance and try to observe till I quit on them! Seems like even if they are male and female they wouldn't make a good pair.
