My name is Dan and I live in Indianapolis with my partner. I have kept fish my whole life (community tanks and easier fish than discus) and I've thoroughly enjoyed my hobby.

My friend recently surrendered a 125 gallon with ten discus, 5 cory cats, 4 rainbow sharks, and an assortment of live plants, river rock and a large piece of driftwood.

I've been caring for these discus for about 6 weeks now and none have died, so I think I've been successful. A pair has also laid two clutches of eggs, which surprised me because my friend said they never bred for him. My local pet stores seem not to know very much about discus. I was excited when I found Simply and I joined emmidiately, knowing this would be the place to meet professional owners!

I hope to learn everything there is to know about caring for these fish.

BTW, how can I include a photo of my tank?
