yea thats why i was wondering about one for an APS-C sensor, the focal lengths are shifted a bit with the smaller sensor right? maybe I would need a shorter focal length macro.

Indeed. Most APS-C sensors have a 1.4 crop, which means, you will need roughly a 70mm lens to get the same FOV, however, being that a FF sensor is much bigger, you can not achieve the same amount of DOF from a same apertured lens. In this situation, it doesn't matter too much because with macro work, you stop DOWN, rather than shoot wide open, so the subject is moot. I'm pretty sure Sig makes the 70 2.8 in Nikon mount as well. They make one for Sony and it has been raved as the hands down sharpest lens there is by Sigma, EVER. That is a huge statement, believe me. To boot, it isn't that expensive. I'd hate to be stepping all over Jackie's post though, pm if you have any further questions.

and again you guys speak gobldygook to me !! lol but no his camera is top of the line, however i know from quizzing Jackie over and over in pm's to get the *secret sauce* (my pictures are abominations lately and i love my discus so i have to fix this so i can share) he has the technique and the lighting. Ricardo and the other mods have been also tutoring me, its really really in the light, knowing your ISO and technique (see Ricardo im learning something ! )

I recently just got EF 50mm f/1.8 II. It's very bright, light and small. And very cheap. Some of those pictures above was taken with this lens..
