I think the 90 is an excellent choice and I easily clean my 90 with the help of a step stool and most kids are taller then me. The background is a personal choice IMO so will leave that to you. If you stay away from PB peppering is not an issue.
Setting up my first Discus Barebottom plantless tank. Not sure to go with 75 Seaclear Acrylic Gallon or 90 Gallon? Not sure about Background color.
It will be housing six 3.5 " to 4.5 " size Discus.
My choice:
75 Gallon 48x18x20
75 Gallon 48x15x24
90 Gallon 48x18x24
I am leaning toward 90 Gallon for more water volume, however the 24" height is too high for my arms for cleaning. I will need a ladder.
Leaning toward a Cobalt Blue background as I want to reduce peppering.
Does 90 gallon really makes that much difference in terms of viewing and their swimming? I have been watching youtubes and see that bigger always looks better.

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
A 90G tank looks so much better than a 75G in my opinion.

I agree: 90. You may only have 6 fish in mind now, but my bet is you'll want more! LOL.
ok 90 I am weak and will definitely get more fish!
