The XP3's are my favorite canisters! did you just stick the drain tube in the overflow and connect the return lines to the loc-line?

The overflows are factory drilled in the bottom of the tank so I ran 2 bulk heads for each overflow. I have a plastic strainer capping the intake side to keep the large particles out. On the outflow side I have a 3/4" piece of PVC that connects to the loc-line for the return to the tank. Nice thing about the rena is when I need to do a change the top flips up and keeps it from leaking. Clean the filters and put them back on.
