    Pics have gone awol.

Initial course of action is to maintain the highest water quality possible. Depending on the severity of the wound will depend if any other action is needed, if it is deep then adding salt @ 1 gram per litre will limit the amount of dehydration. That is approx. 150 grams of salt or 5 1/4 ounces.

That looks like damage around the vent. I'd be tempted to treat topically with iodine I've written a guide here http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...40#post1128140

A while ago I had some discus that developed similar looking wounds around the vent/belly area and suffered a number of losses. We were unable to find out what had caused it, even with the help of a fish vet. I hope this is not that, but just in case both fish need to be completely isolated from the rest of your stock. Make sure you use separate equipment on them and separate towels etc. Deal with your other fish first and see to these last, and always wash hands and arms afterwards.

Have you treated the open wound? If not treat that, maintain good water quality and keep a very close eye on it. Also pay heed to my previous observations.

Has the wound got worse or better? Any sign of necrosis at all?

I use ro right to remeneralize it sometimes or a little tap water till i get a gh of 2 kh of 3 and a ph of 6.8-7. All other discus are perfectly fine. The pair is seperated from all other discus they have their own tank. Anyone have any idea what could be causing this
