Default Tiny particle clouds coming from Gills

    Hi Guys
I have noticed twice that my dark angel discus seems to secrete i little cloud of very very small particles
from what i can only guess is its gills.
    Any ideas??
    Water params are spot on.
    Temp 30°C
it maybe a little less excited to see me than the rest of the group and does not look ill
    Thanks in advance

Ok they could very well be eggs!
I'd say they measure 0.01mm and a lot of them
I've just noticed he/her do it again and it's when one of the other discus do a playful run at her
And she moves quickly opening up her gills

    They won't be eggs

Not sure really what you are seeing but if the fish is eating and otherwise seems healthy just maintain good husbandry and observe for now.

    Hi
    Thanks for the reply.
Yes I'm keeping up on the husbandry
She does not seem to be as happy as the rest although yesterday after a water change she was doing her let's make babies shudder but none of the others seem interested in her.
    I have 2 pairs already
Well one pair and a serious love square (not triangle) 1 female with 3 blokes arguing over her!

At feeding time they all come to the top except her and she just plods around looking for scraps after everyone else has finished

Sounds like it may be the lowest ranked one so may be a bit stressed. Not too much you can do other than keep the temps sane at 28C and feed in multiple places as well as maintaining husbandry. Do stay observant though.

I'm convinced they are Gill fluke eggs.
I've noticed today that a few of the others gills do stick out more than others.
She definitely is not the lowest ranked she kicks ***.
    Two others now look disinterested.
On another tangent, I use ro/di water that is sent to two 200l water butts outside,I then treat these with seachem discus buffer and it's then pumped back through the wall and straight in to the aquarium. how do I heat the water in these butts? I have two aquarium heaters in one at the moment the temp is 5*c at mo. Is there a cheaper way of heating it?
I've even boiled the water in pans which took forever

Better fill this out and get some pics http://forum.simplydiscus.com/showth...lease-complete

As for heating the water, ummm, don't store it outside - seriously though it will need an awful lot of power to heat when outside unless you can lag the barrels in some way including the bottom!
