    Default Diana and Jake

My daughter is home of Christmas and she decided she wanted to ride my old man Jake. Jake is a 28 year old arabian who I have owned for ten years. He is an retired breeding stallion but he was gelded just before he came to live with me. This old man has some life still in him.

For a second there Pat...I thought you guys got snow in Florida but then figured it was white sand.
Looks like your daughter Diane is proud to be home for the holidays and Jake looks to be in great shape for 28yrs old. Knowing how you care for your fish....who would second guess you do the same if not more for good old Jake.
    Great photo

Hi Ralph, we live on a white sand hill beside a lake. He looks amazing for a old guy and Diana enjoyed the ride. Diana is quite a good rider and has ridden since she was nine.

Gosh, I'm an "Old Man" too but I don't look near as good as Jake :-)

6900 is my favorite here Pat. Although it is out of focus (OOF), you still get a sense of speed from the OOF shot. Perfect composition, and the sun is helping light up your daughter

It seems very hard to get a good focus on a large, white object Ricardo. For these series of shots I was using f-stop f4 and f5.6. I overall like the f4 pics better.

f/4 would have gotten you faster shutter speeds. Check your EXIF and I bet that is right

Beautiful! Had saddlebreds a Tennessee walkers for years. Had to give them up due to job transfer. I miss them. What a great job with your old man.I worked for equine vets for years, and this is absolutely one of the most beautiful and healthy old men I have ever seen. Thank you for the pictures.
