I've been taking care of a blue diamond for a while.
At my friend's house it grew up in a tank that had stronger fish, so it never got enough food so rather letting it die I brought it to my place.
Over the 2 months it has put on weight and the concave head and body is now full and it is getting better but not fast as it should.
It is in a tank with some juvies, which were also from the same tank at my friend's house.
I've noticed over the last couple of days that his gill plates won't close all the way and it and the juvies seem to breath a little hard and they rubbed their gills on the flower pot so I made water changes and put a couple of tablespoons of salt but there is no change.
I've decided to treat for gill flukes.
My question: Is FORMALIN the best treatment or another and will it affect the 3 month old juvies and the couple of fish stores I tried don't have FORMALIN they have other produces what are some of the others I could use.
Thanks
