    Default Grand Canyon trip

Went out to California on business, stopped at the Canyon on the way back. It was mind blowing. However I was almost unlucky with the timing. When we got there the canyon was basically in total cloud inversion, which apparently to this level is only a once or twice a decade kind of thing. Cool to experience but almost made me miss the views. Was still a bit hazy and had low hangers after it cleared but overall I'm glad it cleared enough to see. I shot a lot with my neutral density filters, probably to much....I think some are to dark and wish I shot more lighter but not bad overall. Some are sunset, some sunrise, some after the sun was up. Mixed bag. Guess I have to make another trip and hit some other cool spots along the way!

This is the way it looked after the really really foggy day, still cloud inversion going on but not a total fog out like the day before. Literally couldn't see 5ft in front of you, glad we waited it out!

Left the people in that last one, shows some scale.

And I guess a couple of "selfies" lol

Here are a few from around San Fran(On the way as well) I've edited so far.

Nice Matt I lived in AZ for the first 25 years of my young life and only made it to the Grand Canyon once which was maybe 6 years ago. It was the same way when I went but was actually snowing too. Only got one quick glimpse to the bottom and that's it.

Nice Matt. The next time you come to Texas go to Palo Duro Canyon. It is out of this world and has a really cool history.

Thanks all. And John I should of posted and asked for suggestions before I left. We drove I40 the whole way so I was in Amarillo for a night each way of the trip. Could of easily hit that. Guess I have to add it to the list. Literal list, I have a document on my desktop of the places I want to go in the world. Its a very slow checklist especially since it grows so fast but I'll eventually get to a lot of it. Love traveling.

Those are wonderful. I guess it was a mixed bag with the cloud layer but still pretty cool. You notice how blue the sky is?

Beautiful pics Matt - you are an artist with that camera. Anyone can take a picture but you do much more than that.

To cheesy? To CSI Miami looking? Was just having some fun in photoshop.

Here are some I turned Black and White as the guy traveling with me was interested in some black and whites to hang on his wall in a room he is re-doing.

Just a normal color one here

Love this photo. It has a tilt/shift feel to it, or even a miniature feel to it. I did something similar but did it in post, not in camera. Your shot reminded me of it a lot.

Thanks Ricardo, that tree shot was just a lucky one out of the window of a moving van LOL. Not quite as clean and refined as tiltshift.

lol, oh yeah, I knew it was from a moving car, but I liked how it (the tree) came out sharp and the rest blurry. It is a nice shot even if it isn't tack sharp.
