Hey Ricardo,
As an after thought here, perhaps its best we never let our wives compare notes on the diagnosis?

Your discus are talking to you....are you listening
I think I better study these threads in this technical section and learn more about cameras.... maybe one of these days I will buy a used toy and try to learn how to use it. It gets confusing trying to figure out a place to start with all the options, lens, f stops, shutter speeds..... it seems a bit daunting. And then the budget, I would fall into that G.A.S. I am afraid
I have an old 35mm Petri with a small lens and a 400 mm lens around here somewhere. It was cool to play with in its day, but the camera developed a problem.

Ardan,
As a retailer your presentation of merchandise is critical in marketing...learning a bit of photography may be beneficial...it also is a business related expense.

Great Write-up Al.
I have purchased two camera bodies new (both Pentax, a K5, and a K3).
I did this as I was able to write them off my taxes as a business expense, otherwise I would have just kept my eye open at Keh.com or B&H Photo for used bodies.
I think buying used gear saves us money to spend on gas to get to the locations, or to buy more gear.
My best used lens purchase was a Sigma 50-500mm 1:4-6.3 (6.7 on the Pentax bodies) from Keh.com for about $900.00 (this was a $2500.00 lens retail). This lens caught a basketball in the lens hood and eventually had to be sent in for repair ($150.00) and it is still one of my favorite lenses.
I can't justify buying new unless I have profit from shooting a session, and I also have found some of the used lenses to be superior in the clarity of the elements.
The Prairie Falcon shown here was shot with the Pentax K3 and the Sigma 50-500
I am leery of ebay, but I have no issue with a small used camera shop if I can take a couple test shots in the store, or Craigslist if I can meet in person to take a couple test shots.
Buying used gear can save us a ton of money.
The above photo is a 100% crop of the original and was edited with Photoshop CC (creative cloud... CS 6 with a monthly fee and always updated) and Topaz Labs plugins.
