    Default Reliable air pump

    Hi all,

Can anyone suggest a reliable air pump? I have a Tetra Whisper 100 now and it died after 7 months......frustrating Thanks.

I have been using Whisper air pumps for as long as they have been on the market and never had any serious issues with them at all. I found an old large dial model at a garage sale once for $1.00 and 12 years later, it still worked with only one replacement kit needed.

Here is a link to Foster & Smith website were I buy my supplies.

If you only have a couple of tanks the Alita AL6A mine has been running 2 years and it is so quite I have to check the tank for air bubbles to see it working.

I just replaced all my Rena air pumps with the Alita AL15 from Kensfish. If you are looking to run 10+ sponge I suggest going with a pump like the Alita.
