Here is a video of my sump

    https://youtu.be/wHx-GhDkmLQ

It is a 20 G long tank. Water goes through a socket filter 200 u that I have to change every 3-4 days. That first chamber has a pump sending water to a Media Column with Siporax. The water goes also through 2 Hamburg matt filters to the chamber where the return pump is (~700 G/hour). That chamber is full of Matrix in media bags. As you have seen I also have plants.

It has been working for a month. As of today is doing the job.

Ps. The white PVC tubing has 3 battery operated air pumps. If electricity goes off, they start working and the air push water from the return chamber to the first one. Keeping the bacteria in the Hamburg matt filters alive. ..... I hope ... LOL

All the above pics are before installation. The last pic is one and a half years later. Because of the recircutlation, this sump is self cleaning. Just change the socks. I use nylon socks from Dudas Diesel, the filtration experts. They have filter socks in many sizes and lots of different compositions. 2 liters of Purigen, 4 liters of Matrix, 12 Hydro Vs, 4 x 300gph or 1200 gph of fresh air, horizontal K1 reactors and 3x 450w AquaTop Dual Digital heaters (now run horizontal). The Purigen and Matrix are bathed with 160gph pumps and also have 4 8" air stones directly beneath them. Two 960 gph pumps send the already 200 micron filtered water back to 100 micron socks and the two 1358gph return pumps send back to do it all over again. Tank is 1147 liters or 303 us gallons. 96" x 27" x 27". SumpZilla is 48" x 18" x 18". The bottom of the tank is white Starboard, a resin base polymer that can be cut to size.
