    How long does a cross like this take to be stable?

    Not to be a smart aleck Rick, but define stable? Actually this cross was relatively stable in the f2, in my opinion, while others may take 5 or more generations and never be what some would consider "stable", as some rely on heterozygous gene combinations that can only ever achieve less than 50% replication.

    The replicating was my question. At what point/gen can you cross 2 subjects (as shown) and get this type of discus successfully?

    I understand that the word stable is ambiguous however.

    Sound like the fish has a retarded gene. There's should be a correct word for it. The fish looks really great to me
