You did an absolutely wonderful job raising those discus! Both the spotted and the blues.. Your really good... Some very good tips I picked up as well. So thanks for that.
Thanks Kevin. I appreciate the positive feedback, and glad that you may have picked up some tips.

I'm due to do an update is i acquired another batch of 23 blue diamonds to keep the tank in cycle
I also need to post new pictures of my main group as well.
The pair i kept are looking well, but need to get them back into a breeding mood.

    Thanks again.

Another batch of blues Joe ?
What happened to the one you were already raising , are those still in game ?

23 is a big number , I'm guessing they are still babies ?

We are eagerly awaiting more photos and details about your new project

    Hi Filip.
Yes the batch of blue diamonds are very small...similar in size as the ones passed on by Al for the Challenge. I will thin the group down as they get bigger, and will keep them until i need the tank for more juvenile Spotted Eruptions...once i get another pair going
The other batch of blue diamonds l had were quickly sold to make room for the Spotted Eruption juveniles i bred.

They were looking really good too. I'm limiting myself to 3 tanks, but in saying that i do have a 4th on standby....Dont want to get caught up in the hobby....wink wink

Just so awesome how you grew the eruptions so well in a tank that many would say isn't the best for growing discus! Once again very well done! You are skilled. No doubt... Post some more pics and tips please
    Cheers
    Kevin

Its been a long time since ive posted an update about the spotted eruptions that im raising, and thought i would do one now.
I've been pre occupied with my fishing and a few trips so the discus wernt getting the attention to promote breeding. I had let the PH get down low, maybe too low, but decided to rectify that by adding some shell grit into my canister filter. Within a few days they started showing some aggression towards each other and doing their mating dance.
I wasnt surprised when i saw one tube extended last night and cleaning of a spot to lay her eggs. I wasnt expecting them to last long, but hope that some time soon i may have another proven pair and raise anoter batch or two of these beauties.

Here are some pics i snapped last night of them. I still have eight which have grown well and 2 will be sent into the breeder tank once a pair has been established.

    Hi Joe;
They look absolutely magnificent ,my ph has gone low as well and perhaps i need to bring it up by adding grit or sea shells or something ,thanks for reminding me.
    keep up the good works.

Thanks Sayid. I've been slack with my fish because of my trips and fishing. I'm glad it was an easy fix, and hope to get back into it.

Hey, Joe, what's a Ute? I know it's a discus fry. A tank full of utes.

Dont know what you're thinking peewee1, but here in Australia a 'Ute' is the short name for utility, which is a small pick up truck...in other words a car

I thought "Ute" as in "Two Utes" said by a judge in a jury. Joe has the real reason. He does not mean to say youths when he says "Utes"
