That's awesome Joe!! Is my memory correct that these are 2nd gen pair with 3rd gen offspring from your original breeding project? Nice size clutch of wiggler's too! Well done mate!
Thanks Dan.
YAY!!! They hatched! I now have a proven pair to work with...still a long way to go before i accomplish my goal.
The fry have been transferred from Barbs breeding cone onto the sponge filter.
Its taken a long time...lucky i'm patient
Sorry for the very bad picture....i'll see if i can do better later on.

That's so cool
Hi Joe, glad to see they used the cone first. And also glad to hear you and home are safe and that some rain is falling. Take care of yourself and family! Beautiful Discus there.
Barb
Thanks Barb! Very happy to have your cones....and as far as l know the only two in Australia
Day two.
All is looking well with both parent's instincts kicking in and looking after the fry. I just love how they pick them up and place them back in the clutch when one goes astray.
Just waiting for them to free swim before i introduce newly hatched Brine Shrimp...Here are some better pictures of them

Wow Joe, such a thing beefy pair. Love em! If I ever move back to Australia I'd love to buy some of those from you mate!
I have to agree - that is a weighty looking pair, and they're gorgeous!
I can't wait to see how the spawn develops.
I just love how round your fish are. I can't get over it.

Thanks Dan. I like that they are solid looking. Cant see that happening, unless you decided to live in Melbourne. But with the warmer climate and fishing up north who would?
Thanks Jake. Glad you like them. Unfortunately not with this batch.
Thanks Jeanne...I tend to agree with you
Thanks Elliot. There's lots of room for improvement, and one of the traits i was looking for when selecting which juveniles to keep from their batch, and will continue to do so.
The fry did go free swimming but unfortunately were picked off over the last 2 days. I thought it was rather a good size batch for their first attempt, and looking forward to see what's to come.
Thanks to everyone for your interest and comments

Well that didn't take long.....
Round 2. Same as the first time, the eggs were laid and hatched on a Barb's breeding cone, and transferred soon after on the sponge filter.
Hope to get some snaps of them attached....fingers crossed
