Finally set up tank with some water and filter I had in another tank to cycle quicker and tank is 90% done with plants. Just order a finnex 600w heater and I want to get an auto top off system but that could wait for now. I have 5 Gold rams, 6 GBR, and a few SAE which I will put in the tank in a few days then in a month or two I'll be getting 200 to 300 cardinal tetras along with some apisto's. Just got to look into getting some bottom dwellers. As for the discus I should be getting different strains at 4" or bigger from either Gabe at Jack Wattley or from David at angel fish usa don't know yet.

Thanks guys I'm like a lil kid right now dying to put everything all together at once but takes time. I put in my Rams, dwarf gourami, SAE. I'll put up a pic later.

Nice tank, really good composition. Could be a challenge keep it clean, but now looks great.

Thanks I will be using siphon on a regular.

Heres a pic of the tank clear

Some plants not doing to good

I have read up on why anubias is melting and Java fern having black spots, might be change of water conditions(seller tank to my tank), also read on Java fern appears to be very hard to keep that lush green without co2 according to Tom Barr. I'm using 50% RO 50% dechlorinated tap water.

So I have added co2 to the tank at .25bps to start off using aquatek paintball co2 solenoid and will be running it on a timer for 8 hours in the day. I have used co2 for a long time on other tanks and feel comfortable using it with discus in the future. From what I have read, you just have to be very careful using co2 with discus, not to suffocate(to much co2), large ph swings to fast, etc.

Also the mini weeping moss is a dark green and I don't see any new growth so the co2 should help, even though I know it's grows very slowly.

Just a small note of caution, my friend.
Your driftwood is awesome, but I see there are quite a few sharp pointy ends on various pieces, a couple seemingly extending well into the discus' open free swimming areas.
Discus may often be startled at night or whenever, and may injure themselves badly moving swiftly into the sharp ends.
This type of occurrence is not uncommon.
Suggest you have a close look & cut off/remove at least a few of the more protruding pointed ends - those which you feel could be dangerously situated.

Yes and no discuspaul You saw my tank, I also had "dangerous" driftwood and only one fish during 6 month was a little injure. Discus are really good swimmers. I will wait and see how it will be... maybe it's to big driftwood... test it
Try make pictures in the evening, I prefer watch tank than white T-shirt Tank looks great, plants needs time, probably you lost some of them, it happens.

My feeling is that so far - you've been lucky. Either that or you don't have any, or nearly as many, sharp points reaching out into the open areas, like KnuckleZ seems to have.
    My opinion remains the same.
