I will start this with a few of mine taken over the last three years. Any that are not of my family I do have signed model release forms giving permission for my use in any manor that is not illegal.

From Yesterday I took my boys to the park and shot a couple of them at my wife's request as the youngest will turn five on 21 May and the oldest will be 15 in September.

For a family that had a house fire I did a portrait setting for them at no cost year before last

And my youngest son's first breath. he was delivered C-section, and as this has him not cleaned up I will only link to the image as to not gross anyone out:

I love family portraits. In fact, family pictures in general is why I got in to photography in the first place. I wanted to have good images of our family growing up and I didn't think a simply P&S would delivery (for me). So I started investing and soon it became something else, but that is another story. Good portraits. The Sepia toned one is my favorite here. I am not sure what is going on with child with the burgandy collared shirt in the background. I will say this, I have never seen that done before

Thank you Rick The boy in the burgundy shirt was shot using French doors as a background and so I used a selection tool to select the inverse of him, and then played until it looked similar to a Droste Effect only in reverse to simulate going into time. I believe I either used a spot healing brush to do this in Photoshop

Gotcha. Since you invited portraits, I'll post a couple of my little ones later tonight. For some reason, my work computer is acting up and wont let me upload pics.

Very nice photos guys. I can't add much I can here. "Portrait " photography is something I have just recently started dabbling it. I hope to one day have fast 85 mm prime to work with...would love an M42 Tak...but that will have to wait.

I know many pros love fast primes in the 85-135 range for portraits, but I have found that with the majority of my studio shots and outdoor portrait work, I hardly ever shoot wide open. It is great to have a fast prime for that super narrow DOF shot, but again, I find myself not using those lenses at that aperture much.

Typically, if you check most of my gallary, I shoot in the f/4-f/8 range. When I had the CZ 135 1.8 lens, I did tend to shoot wide open, but more due to the fact that the range allowed me to be far away and still get a closeup portrait which I tend to favor.

With all of this being said, I still would like to purchase another 85 1.4. I had a minO one and I just couldn't deal with the screw driven lens noise. I hope Sony releases one with an SSM motor and then I would buy one. As for now, I am waiting for the 135 1.8 to come back in to my life lol. I had to sell for need of money a few years back and it was one of the tougest choices and biggest regrets to date.

Ricardo, the four ladies image is fabulous, tells a beautiful story. I rarely shoot people! Just to hard for me. But I do like using my Nikon 105mm 2.8 macro lens for portraits, it has a nice working distance and background blur.

So many nice shots. I love the shot in the snow and the four generations portrait. I have a Nikon 85mm 1.4 and the bokeh is like butter. Fantastic shallow depth of field but I had to be careful to make sure both eyes are in sharp focus. I have too many otherwise nice portraits with only one eye in focus. I've learned to check after each shot to be sure. Probably should have shot at F2 instead of 1.4 most of the time...

Well here is one from tonight using a Pentax K3 and Sigma 180mm 1:3.5 macro lens. I had to stand about 15 feet away to get this shot. The Globe has been in my possession for the last 40 or so years about the time I was my son's ripe young age of five.
