I've seen many members here use them. Thinking of doing the same myself

I've actually never tried it but I know many who do. Looks like a great way to keep them in one place. My only dislike of fdbw was that they gathered a lot at the surface and many times got stuck to and dried to the glass. This technique may solve this problem

Yes, the inverted cone works very well. A couple times while I was using them, I'd come home to find the cone had sunk to the bottom of the tank, which is normal when there are no worms buoying it up. Twice one of my fry was inside it, in jail! LOL. No harm, no foul.

I ussually stick the freeze dried worms to the glass, but i have started positioning some inverted worm cones above them to catch the cubes when they get pulled off the glass. This actually works pretty well and the fish will pull the worms from the cone. Maybe I should just start putting the fdbw cubes in the cones...

Maybe they were talking about loose fdbw's? Not cubes? At least that's what I thought. Hmm, maybe I was wrong?

In inverted worm feeders solved my problem when food would flow into the overflow in my wet dry filtering system. I drill a 1/8'inch hole at the tip of the cone and 4 holes about 1/2 inch from the tip on sides. I then polish the holes smooth. I use cubes so the fish can actually pull worms out a little easier than one at a time in tiny bunches

I would absolutely recommend using loose worms this way as I use the upside down cone everyday. I fill it to the max before I leave in the morning and it's empty when I get home. There're very few worms in my sumps pre-filter. I don't like the cubes on the glass because they come loose a few minutes after the fish attack them, but the cone lets me feed a ton or worms while I'm gone. I can post a pic of my guy's eating from it if you want.
    Thanks

I would like to see some pictures or video. I have a wet dry system too and have same problem with cubed worms.
