This may take a few sessions but generally works very well for me.

I was just reminding Toni of what you and her taught me! Ha! Can't wait to see this fish develop under Toni. Red Covers and RR's seem to stay a little smaller. Still love all brown based reds though.

Elliot! Oh my gosh it's good to see you old friend! How's your tank doing? Any more fry in amongst the plants?

Did you see the sword plant you sent me in my latest tank pics? It's the one on the left. Keeps sending out babies constantly so I have to trim it all the time.

Oh and yep, I"ve noticed that my Red Cover isn't growing like the others. She's a nice respectable 6", but the others are sprouting right past her.

Alright, have a minute away from the kiddos... whew! But pretty much due to kiddos and school then my tank isn't as happy as it once was. I shaping it back up though. I actually want to take out all of the current driftwood and put new driftwood in with the intention of having less wood touching substrate (to avoid stuff trapping crap) plus use more plants that attach to the wood instead of directly in the substrate for the same intention. I had changed some things around which ended up catching too much crap and so it's just not appealing right now. Sooo... I plan to do an overhaul on it and then maybe add a few new fish to the group in the next 3 or so months.

Where the heck have you been?

    Thanks Blueluv and wetcoast!

I kinda love the Red Cover because of the halo and vivid deep red coloration.

On the other hand, the Eruption Leopard's are gorgeous too. When they all group together it's a rainbow of colors that make me very happy to have these guys in my tank, Can't wait to add a couple of lemon yellows and another spotted type into the mix.

That's Poret Foam. I buy it from Swiss Tropicals and then cut it to fit my needs. It is the ONLY filter media in my HOB filters and it works much better than anything else I've tried. One 19.5"x19.5" sheet goes a long way and 2 sheets are enough for HOB filters plus pre-filters, a plug for the end of my siphon in order to reduce micro bubbles and I still have 1/2 a sheet in the cupboard.

You can check out it out here: http://www.swisstropicals.com/filtration-shop/poret-foam-shop/

To use this on my intake tubes I just wet it well, put it in the freezer for 30 minutes, then carefully cut out a hole in the top. Once I have a nice hole, I deepen the hole to nearly the bottom of the foam leaving about 1" at the bottom. Then I slide the foam on (it's a tight fit!) and I"m done. It never slides off and is easy to rinse and squeeze at the kitchen sink during each water change.

I just wish that I had some of the black foam, it wouldn't stand out as much as the blue. LOL
