Difference between Cobalts and Reflection D?

A Blue Diamond has no stress bars and cannot display stress in this way. Cobalts which predate Blue Diamonds by about 15-20 years and first bred by Jack Wattley have stress bars and they will show when stressed, sick, etc.

I think this answers the question if I understand what you're trying to get at. Under optimum conditions they resemble each other, no stress bars, outside of that they are two entirely different strains.

Just like Blue sapphire is an improved strain of blue diamond, I think Reflection D is just an improved strain of cobalt. I do not know this for fact, but based on my observation, as reflection D gets older, they tend to be more solid with only the first vertical stress bar. Cobalt shows all 9 stress bars even as they get older.

The reflection deep should be a higher bodied fish than the cobalt. There is no other difference.

Sure Liz, I would guess these are similar strain from different breeder.

The maker of the original was Wayne Ng, that was more then a decade ago. I don't remember the Reflection D being a solid colbalt Discus. Best to check with
Wayne Ng. He also has similar Blue color Discus, they are Violet Reflection, Hi-Fin-Body, New Star Blue, Blue Knight and Wind Surf. Also available different
types of Blue Diamond, such as the Super Angel Diamond, Blue Sapphire and the Blue Diamond. The Reflection D has been sold world wide and also crossed
with different types of Discus.
