Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a video of my new betta barracks with a drip system:
I am not a handy person and I had never worked with plumbing before. It took a while to troubleshoot some problems and make it work. The total cost of the project (including shelving, sump, plumbing, etc) is about $460.00. A bit more than I expected, but I am excited with the results. The system is going through a fishless cycling and will soon house the wild Imbellis bettas that I am growing out. Here is a video with the 7-week juvies:
I put the system in my bedroom, but as you can see in the video the noise of the water going down the pipes is quite strong. Any experiences? Will I get accustomed to it? I think I will move the system to another room.
Really nice set up! You could try to insulate the pipes in some way to buffer the noise a bit... Here at my heating company we use a foam covering for pipes that could work for you...?
John - do you still have your set up?
Nope. My daughter stop doing bettas a long time ago. It did work well though. it held roughly 36 bettas and you could turn one valve and do a water change on all of them.
