Had a very nice time at The American Cichlid Association /New England Cichlid Association meeting this weekend in Springfield Ma. Some very cool hobbyists there and fish enthusiasts, heard some good speakers and I hope I gave a good presentation myself. Those of you that let me use your pictures, they were all very well received! Thanks. The talk was early, 9 am on Sat. but the large room was remarkably populated! When I asked how many had discus, they were quite a few hands that went up...Always great to see.

I didn't see any Discus There...<<<<Gasp!!!!!!!!!!!>> there were none in the show and none that I saw for sale... I might have missed them for sale as many were selling fish out of their rooms as well as in retail areas. Had one slightly inebriated fish keeper joke with me about the humor of me being the speaker on discus in the Show where there were no Discus! LOL.Well maybe because of the talk, more will keep and show them. I should have randomly chosen a fish from tank to bring!

I only met one member from Simply, though there may have been others there. I got to meet "uarujoey" there. What a great guy, pleasure to talk with! Some of you may know him from his popular you tube vidoes, The king of DIY. Joey had driven down 12 hours for the show.. We had planned to meet up there and did. Glad I went and had a chance to talk with so many fish nuts and surprising quite a few of discus Nuts! It was a pleasure and an honor.

Lol... There were many many "nice" cichlids, just not Round Ones like on here.

Does Ken still do discus? I thought that ended years ago? Could be wrong. I told Al this but I always felt like a total outsider as a discus keeper at the ACA, perhaps others have felt the same hence no one showing up this year. Or everyone is just saving up for NADA! Still a fun trip and convention to attend. Can't wait to hear the talk Al.

I loves these events but rarely attend the actual talks.

I must admit that most of the reason this year that I was excited to go, was to see Al's talk.

You guys really missed out! Well... sorta. Al allowed me to film it! (The only one I wanted to actually film!)

Al covered everything from A-Z. Well presented, very interesting and hit the nail on the head with every aspect. (Or perhaps I am bias to keeping discus in a very similar manner!)

I will be preparing a feature length video on the talk soon and air it to the masses.

I can not wait to show case Al and Simply Discus as the GO TO place for everything discus.

Glad everyone had a good time this year. It's a shame there were no discus in the show! Unfortunately they always seem to be under-represented at ACA.

When can we expect this video Joey! I can't wait to seeit either! I really wanted to go myself and was trying to plan for it but with a pregnant wife, a 1 year old and the mass crazyness of summer time events, I could not swing it

I have never been to any fish related show, contest or anything and I would really like to start going to one or two a year if possible!
