The first batch of fry went to their new home today (local pickup).

Yes, they did! I am the happy new owner of seven of these cute little Apistos. Pat, you were so great yesterday! I swear she packed them like Kenny!!!! They settled in to a twenty gallon long with a little sand which Pat gave me because I am a strict BB tank person. You were right they immediately went to the sandy end of the tank and they are eating already this morning! They are showing some signs of their gender but it is still hard to tell. One is also living in a cave that I gave them. Thanks again Pat. Rufus

I placed the pair back together. The male is definitely happy to be back with the female. The spawn was 43 fry. Guessing that is a nice sized spawn.
