First Timer: Raising Baby Discus - Advice

Update:
My heater broke one night and stopped heating. (I suspect because it isn't really strong enough for 30 gallons). Water temp dropped to 68 deg and I woke to find two Discus dead. I replaced the heater with a new Eheim and all has been well since. Down to 10 fish but design is starting to be more pronounced in another fish.

Water changes: I can now do a 90% water change AND siphoning in under 20 minutes!

Food:
Bloodworms - they go crazy for this
Discus flakes - they peck at them but don't seem to really enjoy them
Frozen Shrimp cubes - barely even touch them

What can I do to change this behavior? I feel like I need to put bloodworms in every time I feed for fear of them being undernourished.

i have tumbnail size 12 discus babies and they are eating beef heart mix now.should feed them beef heart mix or give them flake food like hikari or tetra bites.?
brimp shrimps are not available in my area.please help..
im new in discus bt hav alots of experience in tetras and planted tanks

Update: Heater issues, with my new Eheim as well. Lost a few more fish, thankfully all small ones. I'm down to six. Five out of the six are starting to show color. 4 of them show substantial growth in size. One is showing dark orange/brown coloring, three are showing stripes, and the blue guy is getting...bluer.

I'm hopeful but sad that I have lost so many. I'm keeping the water at 81 degrees now, feeding 3x a day, and doing a 90% water change + siphon every night.
