I have one and i disnt really know what it was untill i looked into it its a great looking fish and the peopering isnt bad at all i actually like it ill post a picture of mine in a little bit
It's not a very desirable trait for most. Some people say they like it but I don't like peppering. It's really personal taste
personally I do not like pb's. I think the reason that I don’t like them is actually because almost every one I have ever seen has peppering.

I'm not a fan of peppering at all.
I think all discus are beautiful and even peppered pancakes!
I don't think I would want a tank full of them, but one or two in an assorted tank is amazing!
I have a mango-melon-pigeon-highbred with lots of peppering and she has the fattest bulldog head you heave ever seen, she looks amazing!

my 1st round of Ds 2 decades ago i had those orange with peppering, they were fine, but always looked a little goofy in my planted tank with the turgs and my Jim Quarles Snakes, there are no PBs in this tank.
My PB show some peppering but I barely notice it because their color is amazing. Mostly on the marlboros. Still new to discus = in only a year this round....I keep seeing mention of bulldog head on discus, what is it? Thanks Julia
Our local stores are Asia's dumping ground for peppered rejects so I can't help but associate it with low quality. Peppering on the edges of fins can be attractive though depending on the strain and fish quality.

Here's one of mine. I don't have an issue with peppering and only found out that it was issue for some people once I got involved with this Forum.
However, I should warn people, if you put cucumbers in your tank like this some Discus usually feast in it too.
My wife called them "cucumber Discus"...
Lol!
I personally don't like it. I have some that have gotten black tails and peppered, and other that haven't.
This is probably deserving a separate thread, but does anyone know how to prevent it? I have heard that it is a response to intense light (like freckling), and/or having a dark background.
