Anyone ? :-S
Hi!
I really don't know with that situation since everything, except the rubbing, is normal. Here is the questionnaire.
1. Please explain the problems with your fish. When did you notice the problems and did anything unusual happen that you think started them?
Some of my discus are rubbing against leaves or flashing or shaking a bit. It is occasionnal. My ramirezi are also flashing sometimes. Noticed a week ago.
2. Symptoms (i.e. turning dark, excess slime, not eating, clamped fins, flashing, darting, clamped gills, white/yellow/green poop, hiding, headstanding or tailstanding, white on tips of fins, rotting or fungus, blisters/white zits on fish, bloated, cloudy eyes, wounds).
Same as number one. I would also say that other than that, my fish are acting normal: begging for food, active, not hiding, nothing appears on their skin or anywhere else.
3. What medications/ treatments have you already tried and what were the results. Include dosage and duration of treatment.
Paraguard recommended dosage (40 ML for 80 gallons) for 3 days.
Tank/Water
4. Tank size and ages, numbers and sizes of fish.
80 gallons, 10 juvenile discus (3 to 8 months old), ranging from 2,5 inches to 6 inches.
5. Water change regime (What percentage and how often).
50 % 3 times a week.
6. How long has tank been running? Is it bare bottom? If you have substrate, what type and how deep is it?
Tank is runing since last december. Substrate for plants (dirt + eco-complete)
7. Do you age your water? If you do for how long and what is the ph swing.
No, because i use R/O with a bit of tap water. PH is changing from 6.5 to 6.8 throughout the day.
8. Parameters and water source;
Note: Water Parameters are important in diagnosing problems within a tank. If you don't own test kits for the following information, you can purchase them, test your parameters and post this info as soon as possible.
- temp __29 c___
- ph __6.5___
- ammonia reading __0__
- nitrite reading __0__
- nitrate reading __2__
What type of water or combinations of water sources do you use? If it is an RO/tap/well water mix, please list percentages in the mix.
- well water __0__
- municipal water __25%__
- RO water __75%__
9. Any new fish, plants or inverts added recently.
No.
10. Include any pictures or videos you have which shows the symptoms. If you can't add them to this post, please provide a link to them.
Pciture would not help since you don't see nothing on the fish.

If the fish aren't showing any other symptoms than the occasional flicking or flashing, I wouldn't worry too much. I would be concerned if the fish begin to display negative behavior such as huddling, clamped fins, darkening, discoloration or loss of appetite.
