Should I remove parents from fry now?
Hi,
Since no one answered in my other thread, I thought I ask you that question in a seperate one:
My Fry is 3 1/2 weeks old, Its their fourth week, a batch of 30. They are no longer attached to parents (except maybe 2-3 who occassionally go and feed from parents).
Fry is going after food I give them, and most of the time are cleaning whats left on the bottom of the tank, bare-bottom.
Question: Should I remove parents now? Females is alsways dark since day 1, father is more agreessive towards me, when I approach glass. OVerall parents condition seem OK.
Thanks.

I normally remove the fry and not the parents but you can do whatever floats your boat.

Ok. Thanks John.
At 4 weeks they are more than 1/2 inch, and less than an inch, is it too small, ok size?

I remove the fry usually one week old, the target size would usually would be about 1 inch in 6 weeks but this depends on what strain also.

Re: Should I remove parents from fry now?
I normally leave mine for between 10 and 21 days just depending on the size of the spawn and if I have any tanks empty....
The size is ok. Not setting the world on fire but not a problem.

Re: Should I remove parents from fry now?
This is my very first batch. I am planning to put parents into community tank - i dont want any more fry yet.
I want to see if i can raise this fry properly, and good size. If it works, it will be visible in couple months- if juvies are good size, i will put parents into breeder again..
Is it beneficial to keep parents with fry at 4 weeks old? I can remove or keep them there.. I just dont like how parents are always aggressive towards me.
