Finally, one year after obtaining these beautiful fish from Chicago Discus at 3-3 1/2" I'm cautiously optimistic! I have had multiple failures with the fry dying while still in the wriggler stage. This time I raised the TDS after hatching and the fry attached! The video is of the female with 10d old fry. This female is my best fish...great color, pattern and halo. Sorry about the sound, the U.S. Open is on TV, lol.

IMHO it looks like the female is getting annoyed with them and wants the male to feed them for a while.

Yep, I agree. It hurts to have all those babies nipping at you! Be sure to feed them baby brine shrimp as often as possible (8 times a day or more). That will take some of the pressure off mama tiger. And where is papa? Congrats! ... Miranda

Dad is there, but is not in the video. They twitch when wanting to exchange the fry to the other parent. I'm new to the whole video thing and Youtube so it was just a quick experimental video posting for me.

Sadly, I have lost the fry. Both my wife and I work full time and I had trouble transitioning the fry to survive on their own. Too many feedings of brine shrimp required for me to succeed. If anyone has suggestions on how to feed fry after 3-4 days with busy work schedules, I would appreciate it. For now I'm gonna hold off until I retire in a few years.
