    Default Copepods

    My breeder tank continues to have copepods I broke the tank down once but they came back anyone no how to get rid of these pests they are like fleas .

    I too had them in my small grow out 20 long probably due to overfeeding. They also live by the thousands in your filter so the way I got rid of them was to nuke it all tank and filters and bring over my hob from my main tank until the cleaned filters got seeded.

    Its amazing how fast those little creatures can dart through the water. I think of them as fairly harmless and they probably are everywhere in small numbers but especially in planted tanks. I see occasional outbreaks when I'm using infusoria and/or baby brine shrimp and haven't cleaned the fry tank very well after feeding. They usually show up along with Hydra. Hydra are a threat to small fry though.
