Very clever Toni on the squishy pot idea. Hubby keeps bugging me about adding a few plants so this is something to consider if I ever cave to his idea. Lovely sword plant

Thanks for the "recipe" Toni. I want to try it, and put the squish into one of my pottery pots. What a good idea you had. Glad the cones worked!

Ok, my babies were in a curious (read that NOSY) mood this morning and didn't mind one bit when I got out my camera. That's a first for this bunch, they normally head for cover the second they spot the camera pointing at them.

So bad lighting and all, I snapped pics!

I love how your DIY panty hose pot looks like a rhizome rather than what it is. Cool DIY.

I hope that rc gets big. Love Kenny and Forrest's RC's but I couldn't get them to grow... Of course, that said, I'm the worst grower here and would still buy a tank full of RC's from them!

Toni, any plans for more tanks too?

I have a feeling she isn't going to get much bigger Elliot. I'll haul her out and measure her tonight, but even though she's a great eater, she's starting to fall behind the males in size. I'm thinking she's about 6", and since I got her in late May she'd be about about 9 months old now. Might grow another half inch if I'm lucky? =)

Not planning to add any more tanks. We're retired folks now and the plan is to buy an RV in the spring and head out on the road so I'll be selling or giving away all of my discus.

Ok, just finished my water change Elliot. I pulled my RC, one of my red snakeskins, one Eruption Leopard and my Golden Lollipop. And they're all exactly 6". That means that the other Eruption Leopard is closer to 7" and the little Yellow Checkerboard is just under 6", probably more like 5.5".

The 2 yellows have had a growth spurt the last two weeks! They were both 5" when I measured them at the end of September. And I definitely noticed that the lollipop was outgrowing the checkerboard, so I wasn't surprised to see that he's still under 6". Then again, he was only 2.5" in July, so I'm not upset by it...yet. LOL

No pictures of them with a ruler, because hubby is out on a fishing trip and I can't hold a fish down, measure it AND take a picture at the same time. Tried it once and ended up with discus flopping all over my counters and one on the floor.

You get her to 6 and that's damn good Toni. Great great strain but hard to get big. Not sure what gives but curious with you.
