    Default drip systems

Dose anyone have any experience with drip systems and discus. Dose this prevent the need to do water change assuming the system is dripping 20% a day or make it so you can get away with doing large changes less often?

This topic gets brought up pretty often. The take away from those conversations is always the same, it is better to do manual WC's than a drip system one.

I would use it only as an addition to my regular maintenance and Manual Wc routines, not as a substitute to them.

I use a drip system, though its more like a flow through... only in addition however to vacuuming detritus and then replacing that water as a regular water change. I use this on my breeders, but it works the best on fry tanks where overfeeding can be an issue.
