Default 150 gallon Rio Negro Biotope. Moved Heckels into this

    Hi everyone,

I decided to move my heckels to the 150. All 10 of them are happy, healthy, and most importantly, actively eating.

Added some new tank mates and have some fish on order to complete the setup. Currently housing 5 Biotodoma Cupido, 5 Crenicichla Notopthalmus, 10 Marbled hatchets, and 4 Hemiodus Gracilis. I have 2 Ancistrus dolichopterus for cleanup, 14 hyphessobrycon pyrrhonotus, and either a pair of ivanocara adoketa or 4 leopoldi angels on the way. They will be qt'd before being added

Rob, love the sh.. out of your tank. I could watch that all day. Do you have any flow towards the back/bottom to keep that area from build up?

Thank you. I didn't think of adding a powerhead down low in the tank but I will. Great suggestion.

Dont get me wrong its a beautiful tank and great looking fish, if anything am super jealous. I have just seen how fast discus can be when spooked just seems like something that can happen and am sure it has at some point or another.

I have jagged pieces and never had a problem. Only prob I ever had was one discus getting stuck under a piece ... three times ... third time he was a "gonner" ... He just had to get that bloodworm in the crevice.

Awesome setup. I have a lot of branches in my tanks & have not had any issues & also figure that they live around the same things in the wild.

Very nice biotope setup, i would only add 2 or 3 more hemiodus. Speaking of them, make sure your top is tight, they are good jumpers. What are tank measurments, water parameters and what filtration do you use?
