Default Part of the Barebottom club now!

Not too happy with the location but I got my 55g barebottom growout set up. (Wife said no more tanks in the bedroom, lost that battle).

They seem to be spooking on the reflection on the bottom. Do I need to intervene or let them settle in?

Is the bottom painted or covered? If it is open then yes you need to address that for them to settle in

What is "mac-tack"? Google isn't too useful for this one!

i tried taping paper to the bottom of my tank but ended up painting it because my guys were still "surfing"... can u empty the tank and put a coat of paint on it? some ppl use textured paint to give it a "sandy" look

This would be your best option, however, any paint will work really.

I went barebottom this week and mine adjusted within 2 days.

I would think the bedroom is the best place for a discus tank. That's where ours are. Nothing like nodding off while watching your fish swimming under a blue nightlight.
