So, let me take you on a journey down the Santa Monica board walk.

This shot is as soon as I exit from my job. It is the white building on the left. This view shows the way to Venice Beach. Behind me is towards the Santa Monica Pier, and that is where we are headed...

As you walk down the boardwalk, you see A LOT of people working out in Muscle Beach. The tight rope guys are pretty entertaining:

The Rings are also always a huge hit:

    Getting closer to the Pier:
IMGP4583 by Rick Vasquez, on Flickr

Oddly enough, the most popular place to eat by the sand is this super old "Hot dog on a stick":
IMGP4597 by Rick Vasquez, on Flickr

On the way up to the Pier. You will recognize the Merry-Go-Round in the background from my previous stitched shot:
IMGP4600 by Rick Vasquez, on Flickr

Soda Jerks. Named as such for the way they used to have to serve soda. They'd have to shake it up and add the carbonation by hand.
IMGP4611 by Rick Vasquez, on Flickr

Right on the corner of the Merry-Go-Round (or right below it rather) you have the Aquarium!
IMGP4609 by Rick Vasquez, on Flickr

All the next few are on the actual pier itself:

To say this walkway is heavily packed daily would be an understatement. Fun fact, before, you would be able to walk ALL through this whole ramp. They've recently added the sidewalk blocked with the huge roadblocks. Safety I suppose but skaters and bikers used to fly down the ramp at top speeds before.

an overall view of the Pier:

The next 3 shots aren't as wowing as the previous ones, but they are shots of my father-in-laws 1965 Chevy Impala we have been working on for a few years now. He is currently doing the upholstery. Couldn't get really good shots here as the positioning of the car isn't the greatest, and turning it on to move it takes about half the tank of gas, lol.

So, I had to raise the brightness on these in the computers edit program. They contrast is a bit harsh.

A view from down the road a bit.

You can see our Table Rocks in the distance. Their top used to be an ancient sea bed. Much older than the surrounding geology.

So I was able to get a few pictures that came out o.k still learning how to use this thing lol. Took a few car shots, fish shots and some decorations on my porch. The weather is not so fair this weekend so probably wont get any good landscape shots.

Well Looks like I'm getting the hang of this aperture and shutter speed deal. I took some better pictures of the fish and some salt water shots. Pretty overcast day but I was able to snap a shot of the blue sky poking out. Hope I don't flood you guys with too many pictures, it's just nice to be able to take nice pictures. You see things is such a different way.

Some pictures for all of you in the warmer regions. We were blessed with a small snow storm last night and figured I'd share some good old New England weather. First two pictures were taken Saturday after a rain shower the rest today. Nothing like April snow showers killing May flowers!

I was able to play around with the camera. Overall impression is that it is fully capable of taking some great photos. In my case the only downside is the operator. here are a few samples.
