I love your creativity and the thought behind this. There can never ever be too much filtration and you've covered all the bases with sumpzilla!

The only thing is, micron bags clog awful fast for my tastes, which is why I quit using them. Poret foam is a better choice IMO.
A large piece wedged in place would do the same thing, while giving you more square inches of filtering area, and not clogging as
fast. Very creative though. Good idea.

is your overflow section routed to the first 2 socks? If so, are the others being fed via recirculation? Pretty cool, but watch for overflow. It doesn't look like there is a fail-safe if one of those socks completely clogs as the lip is right along the same height as the sump wall.

I use only nylon socks. They don't clog like polypro and can be cleaned completely in 10 seconds each just with a hose. I don't buy socks from the online fish store folks, I go to the experts at Duda Diesel
that have socks made from many different materials for filtering many different types of liquids from soup to diesel fuel and socks with small enough micron size to filter out the AIDS Virus lol. A sponge
leaves a cloud of mess in your water when changing, a properly placed filter sock comes out clean. But thank you for the nice words. Everybody's different.

If they fill and overflow, the water simply falls back into the main sump. No worries.

And you are correct, there are two 960gph pumps taking the 200 micron filtered water and sending it back to 100/55 microns. Then two 1058s send it back to the tank. The overflows are in both corners completely hidden, as is everything else by the 3d. Heaters are in the sump. Between my horizontal k1s, air stones and the 12 pc of Hydro Vs I have almost 1500 gph of air. Discus love that O2!

    Larger square inches than 4pc 7" x 32" socks. I respectfully disagree.

Over one year later, SumpZilla has lived up to it's name. Because of the recirculation, it has never been cleaned or scrubbed. Just pull out the soiled socks, throw 'em in the washer on HOT and replace (I have dozens). I did cut a one inch horizontal slice just below the top ring on the socks to release the water IF it becomes clogged. Again, nylon works much better and doesn't clog as easily as poly or felt.
