Devon,is it for t the 240 in your signature?
What else is in there? How many discus other tank mates etx ?
So I am looking to replace some angle fish and am looking for some ideas on new takemates figured I see what people think. I am interested in wild angles but figured id poke around first.

Yes the 240, I have 9 discus, 2 angles, 6 torpedo barbs, rope fish, crayfish, eclipse cat fish. I don't want to do tetras or small schooling fish.
I was about to say that tank would look amazing with a big cloud of tetras swimming about but there goes that!
What happened to the frogs and the Ray...?
How about some geos? You have the tank space for it that's for sure.
Forgot about the frog he is still here, I sold the ray, he was making a mess of the substrate when he would bury himself. MY wife likes the larger fish but right now is not the time to buy a new group of discus and grow them out. My tank is so big with so few fish. I'm not completely against a school of cardinals just don't want them to be the only addition.
I was thinking about 4 or 5 geophagus.
Yea some nice geo's would be cool in there just research the ones you get because I believe some get very large and some are more peaceful than others, but I have seen them with discus in big tanks and they look cool...
Can't you buy or add some adult discus? Why would they need to be grow outs? Financial reasons or?
Maybe some geo's and a nice big school of tetras... Then maybe something on the bottom like a cool group of cories?
I know tetra's sound so ah, but with a tank like yours if you can get a large group I am talking like 75-100 you will be amazed at how fun they are...
I have also heard hatchets are very cool and they like to hang up top so you could go with a layered approach and do hatchets for the top, cardinals for the middle and some corries on the bottom and some geo's and that would about round that tank out to perfection!!!
The adult discus would be nice but with a baby on the way my wife would not be thrilled with that. I like the idea of the tetras and the geophagus
i added bosemani rainbowfishes to mine but they would probably be like your torpedos mid lvl swimmers.
Devon,
Did you ever add anything? I know you are busy w the baby and that SW tank...
Anyone ever put P. Kribensis, a cichlid in with Discus? I love these lil' guys, but don't know how they'll do with Discus....tia

Banjo catfish. Love'm because they're goofy. Also, some South American gobies are fun too.

I've got a school of a dozen hatchets. They do great. Just make sure every little opening on the lid is closed. They love to jump out. Also, some rams or apistos can add some personality. My rams are funny when they bow up to the discus at feeding time.
