Sorry about the low quality pics
So as i said in a earlier thread im now the proud owner of 10x Blue Cobolt Discus 2" in size ordered From Tony and Jeffery Tan.
The whole experience was a delight and no discus died during transport.30min after being in tank they were cruising around fins erect, all in front of tank none hiding or dark in color.Im verry pleased to say the least.
They are in a 200L tank 4ft size.Feeding 6 times a day Benkers Discus Royal (frozen food imported from germany) Hikari Discus granules, Ocean Nutrition Bloodworm and Daphnia.will add to the menu once my pocket recovers.
Water change 50% Morning and 50% at night and syphon uneaten food and crap 30min after feeding.
These fish are realy easy to deal with and very boysterous and always hungry and inquisitive. The first pictures are from the day they arrived 30min in tank.Last week tuesday.
Sorry about the low quality pics
The following pics are following days up till one week.
Sorry for the photo bomb
Almost done
Last ones Promise.
And the journey begins again
Never Ever be sorry about pictures!! Are you kidding me, especially i your own thread! We all looooove pics so bombs away!!!
Sounds like they made the long trip quite well! It also sounds like you have a hell of a strict regiment planned and will have some beasts on your hands in no time!!
Keep us posted and keep those pics coming!!!
Will do monthly updates with pics.really excited.
They look nice....looking forward to updates and progress!
Pictures get right to the point, keep 'em coming!
Good luck with them Quintin. They look great and the biggest one already started to get a blue hue on him.
What kind of water do you use for WCs?
If its aged and treated with Safe ,maybe an easier and more effective routine for you and your fish would be to do one 90% instead of 2 50% daily.
Anyway , keep us posted with pics and progress from their growth.
Strait tap water with safe.ive found fish to get less stressed with 50% twice a day.and that way they get two big fresh doses of water a day.and with the syphoning after feeding.and wiping glass every second day this tank stays clean.and the fish love it.i dont have a light on tank so looks very dull.but my main concern rite now is only the fish.they do look amazing in the day with sunlight.pics really dnt do them justice.
Maybe you already know , but its good to mention that when you do straight tap WC you can significantly reduce stress in discus by running the tap water hose through a thick layer of filter floss or micron sock layers.
That way you outgass the water more quickly and reduce the microbubbles in water, which are the main cause of discus stress after WC.
They irritate fish gills and make breathing harder on discus.
