    Default First Planted Tank

My son has been asking me for his own planted Puffer tank for about a year now. I finally sold enough discus fry to fund his tank. With limited space I went with a 60 gallon rimless cube tank 24x24x24 inches. Fund a great deal at one of the LFS here for tank, stand, and glass top.

    Equipment:
    • 60 gallon Rimless cube tank with stands and glasstop
    • Eheim 2213 Canister Filter
    • Ebay cheap Aquaneat LED light rated for plants
    • Aquatop EX Glass Heater with Digital External Controller 300 Watt

For the main attraction we went with Abei Puffer. This stain is hard to find, but I was lucky enough to find a local here selling his on craigslist. Max growth is 4-5" and this one is actually 4.5".

This is him after he had a full meal. Like a puppy he got lazy and lay rest on top of the driftwood.

    very cool

one of my favorites tanks was a heavily planted 75 gallon tank with dwarf corys and about 17 dwarf puffers. Puffers are about as unique a group of fish as I think you could find

Tank set up is great Kal -El.
I love the mountain in the middle , its the most suitable layout for this tank footage.

Call me ignorant , but this is a first time I see a freshwater puffer fish :-) . it looks very cool . I can imagine a tank full of them.

Chicago Discus has an awesome one that was on live feed for the longest time.

OP, I am not sure that the plants in the middle are aquatic plants?

Also, if that is glossostigma in the foreground, separate it in to clumps for better growth.

Beautiful tank. How are you liking that Aquaneat LED? I have one on the way.
