No, just set my canon to take a shot once a minute while I was out. Wanted to see if plants are growing, doesn't look like it so far heh, but it's been only few days since I got it all set up >.>

Looks nice either way. I don't think I have ever tried time lapse with my camera. Are you using some kind of app to do that? Or is it a built in option?

The 7D Mark II has that built in. But if DSLR doesn't they usually have a port to which you can connect remote trigger and those can do various time lapses, or long exposure etc. I used this one on other cameras before, but there a bunch of similar things on amazon.

Matt loves that body. I was actually thinking of getting the Mark III at one point but just thinking of switching camps gave me a headache. Great bodies though. I have shot with a few Canons and the Mark II felt very good in the hand.

Any thought on these plants for discus, and the ones below that I already have.

    Cryptocoryne X Willisii 'lucens'
    cryptocoryne Undulata
    cryptocoryne Wendtii Red
    proserpinaca Palustris
    pogostemon Helferi, Downoi
    hygrophila Corymbosa Stricta
    lobelia Cardinalis, Cardinal Plant
    aponogeton Boivinianus
    anubias Nangi
    anubias Barteri Coffeefolia
    echinodorus Kleiner Bar Sword Plant
    echinodorus Indian Red Sword
    echinodorus "ozelot" Sword Plant

Already got two packages from other hobbyists, but do not really like all of the plants received, so would like to get some more and this time I decided to just get them from a retail store to have more options instead of settling for whatever person on forums may have

Here is the list of what I have already
    Anubias nana petite (good)
Madagascar Lace Plant (Aponogeton madagascariensis) (good)
Red Tiger lotus (Nymphaea zenkeri) (good)
    Crypt. Wendtii (good)
    Amazon sword (good)
    Java fern (seems good)
Microswords (Lilaeopsis brasiliensis) - was part of the order, but I'm pretty sure I did not get this
    Ludwigia repens (don't like)
    Ludwigia senegalensis (good)
    Staurogyne repens (good)
    Java moss (good on/around branches)
Some random stems (don't really like most of these)
Vesicularia Thai moss (good on/around branches)
Calliciocostella sp Pancuraji moss (good on/around branches)
Fissidens fox moss (good on/around branches)
    Christmas moss (good on/around branches)
    Queen Moss (good on/around branches)

That is some really nice scaping - might have to 'nick' some of those ideas, don't like the black sand though, but each to their own ! !

Got manzanita branches in as well as some random plants. Not super happy with all of them, but I guess will do for now. Will be more selective at picking plants later ....

    Here are some shots.

I'm not too hip on that backdrop. Seems the mottled pattern in back distracts from the contents of the tank inside. I find myself looking at that instead of the scape. But, that's just me.

Same here but like the intent. Sick of my black background but haven't found one I like yet. 3d is awesome but takes up volume and knowing me it'd be a cleaning problem.

Intent is laziness to scrape off dead coraline algae It is falling off slowly. I'm sure in time it will be mostly gone.

Got the remained of the plants now in the tank and moved the plecos and cories in. They are pretty tiny, already found 4 in the sump this morning. Added a bit of netting around the overflow teeth, hopefully that will be enough to stop the thrill rides down to the sump.

    Quick video of the tank.

are you dead set on having a mixed group? have you seen single species tank pictures? I am just asking bc your tank looks so natural and I think a single species would look natural to match. Totally just my opinion, feel free to shoot me down.

I just can't make a decision on a single type I kind of feel dark angels are my favorite, but I'm not sure how I would like to have dozen of them. This way if I hate one type at least there are few others to offset it, but yeah in general I do feel having all of the same type would look much nicer.
