Get 5 gallon bucket. Fill it with water from the tap and test it for pH. Then stick an air stone in the 5 gallon bucket and check the pH of the water after it has had the bubblier in it for 24 hours.

I forgot to oost this earlier but ph out of the tap is around 7.6 and ph after 24 hours in the bucket with an airstone was 8.2!
You need to age.
