New to Discus n Hooked

Not sure where to start since I've already set up my tank and I'll have to research the proper names of the plants so I'll add that later.
Filter is N API XP-L. Bottom tray has 3 layers of foam from course to fine. The middle and top trays are filled with Biohome glass media.
Currently, my Discus collection consists of one of each:
Blue Turquoise
Blue Tiger
Red Tiger
Checkerboard Pigeon
Pearl
Red Melon
Pigeon Snakeskin
Marlboro Reds (2)
I found my first 2 at a LFS which were the Red Tiger and Checkerboard Pigeon.
Then I was fortunately able to locate the breeder (small town) since I wanted several more and he allowed me to meet with him and select my new additions.
As you'll see from pics I'll be including, there also an angel and small koi in the tank and I'll explain the logic and or reasoning in future entries.
