I guess you need to choose 1080p for quality to actually see the action

This is my first attempt at a purigen reactor and seems to be working well so far.

It looks great Ryan! Wonder how many others run these and what kind of results they get. Any ideas?

Maybe start a new thread? Unless there is an old one to dig up. Not that I need anything more in my cabinet but this looks interesting. I have a 1 liter bag just sitting there passively. It works but tumbling is the bomb.

Still dialing flow in. It's much better now. It seems at first it needs much slower flow but then the tiniest of the beads start to settle down and flow can be higher. I have a micron sock on the output until the dial in process is through

What kind of reactor are you using Ryan ?
I don't know if you have restricted your main flow to comply with purigen reactor or you are using a spare pump for it ?
I would not compromise my main filtration and flow with additional gadgets .

Please observe and report for results or improvement in water quality with this chemical filtration .

That's a lot of purigen. I use a 1/4 cup in a mesh bag (passively) in a very heavily planted 40 gallon and it lasts me 3-6 mos. I use it primarily for water clarity. Never used it with discus though.

I have a couple of low flow pumps and extra purigen so I am starting to get ideas. What is the flow rate you on your reactor? Does the reactor pull and empty back into your sump?

Hi Filip good questions. The main flow to tank is not restricted at all. I teed into return just above my aquastop valve. There is a ball valve on the purigen supply line but not main return back to tank. The reactor has it's own return line back to tank. Flow through reactor is very slow.
Here is the reactor I'm using

AquaMaxx Fr-se GFO Carbon and Biopellet Hang-on Filter Media Reactor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0184GF5PQ..._fCixoRFCwzPRx

Her Eric as of now it's teed into my canister return. When I have my sump rubbing I was planning on using a pump in sump then have it dump back into sump down stream of the pump.

Thanks I appreciate it. It's been a long journey but I am pretty happy with the results. Next time there are definitely things I will do differently
