Hey Phil. I got the wood from manzanitadirect. They are really great. Super fast shipping and great product. They send me free product everytime.

I soaked mine for 24 hours. Dumped the water and refilled. After about 12 hours the water was still clear so i figured it was good. Last time I got my wood from them it was about the same. Only couple days soaking and very little tannin.

When I first started my tank I had a piece of mopari that I boiled. It had my water so yellow. After several days and WCs later I added some purigen to my filter. Within 24 hours water was clear.

So excited just picked up this 40 breeder today from petco for my sump build. Saved $80 bucks on this baby. This will be going into my diy stand.

I will post photos of the progress of the sump and stand build. This will be my first go at both. Wish me luck

Thank you Eric. It's been a looooong work in progress since April. I've learned so much in that amount of time.

Looking forward to this stand and sump build.

Also will be getting 2 new fish from Kenny any day now. Just waiting for his note to come pick them up.

Just beautiful- the fish-the tank-just beautiful! Your fish look so healthy. Your water is so crisp and clear. The wood is perfect. Really nice job!

Thanks Patty. It's been a learning process. Always a work in progress but a labor of love nonetheless.

That looks fantastic Ryan. Really clean and the fish look great. I have some mazanita branches still in the box they came in. So many sharp points. I think when all 8 are together in the 75 gallon they will need that open space so I may not put in. It may end up next to that sand I never used! Yours looks great though. Plenty of room to swim ans so natural looking.
