Gorgeous fish.
I had black substrate with black background. Bad idea. Fish look so much better without. I switched to white sand and no background and what a difference. I am planning on building a sump soon so considering doing maybe a frosted background rather than white.
my blues were pretty dark on a dark background + dark bottom and all the fish lightened up a lot after switching to white background + white bottom. i dont have any good before/after shots but i clipped some pics to try to show the difference in one of them. the bottom left shows the overall lighter colour best after switching.
yup, I think I going to make a switch to white background.. I have a thin (I see glass a multiple places) layer of white PFS...
Jesse, those leopard SS will look amazing on any background,
Kyla, the change is very evident...
I will do a pre/post just for future reference.
Can't wait to see it.
i have given away most of the plants, but when i had them i didnt do much for them, they just grew like weeds so it was a fluke on my part. i just put plants into the tank randomly and whichever ones liked the tank, grew. i used co2 for a while, but even when i shut the system down they still grew. there were 4 coralife 10000k compact bulbs on the tank, but even when i switched to LED they still grew. i had some kind of eco complete substrate in the tank, but even when i potted them they grew.
