    How do you like the marine pure? I was thinking about getting the brick and adding it to my current system. I just question the maintenance on it, seems like it will be hard to clean.

    I like the marine pure media, in general. The brick is a bit brittle and you will break it at some point. They are not difficult to clean at all. I use the balls. You can literally pour a glass of water through them with no resistance. They are not delicate. They have done me well and I agree with their claims of capacity, despite me having too many. They do break down a little and have a sand like substance ...but not much at all as a consideration. You will not end up with a substrate. I think they are overpriced, but great!

    Agree on the above,I use the Marinepure spheres and have not had to clean them yet-the key,as with all bio-media,is effective pre-filtration of solids prior to the water hitting your bio media- be that filter floss,sponges,matting,socks,what have you.
