    These were my planted tanks without CO2 or ferts.Very low tech.Pics are old and not the best.

    Nice tank Mervin . I especialy like the first pic planted setup.
    Is that red plant on the firs pic the notorious Rotala Macrandra ? Hoe did you manage to keep it alive w/o Co2 ? How long did it last ?

    I've used CO2 in a discus tank some years ago and found it hard not to stress the fish during wc since the CO2 lowers the pH. This means you have a pH-rise with every wc.

    They are a cross of Rose red with Piwowarski Red turquoise discus .They got the brownish look from the rose red and the blue striations up and down their body and fins from the Red turquoise .
    Theese and similar lookin Brown based discus are ussualy sold by the name Alenquer discus on the market.
