Mine has its own water line through the floor and underground to a pump house, so it wouldn't fit what you are trying to do. You can get a different faucet, or for a more permanent setup you could install a thermostatic mixing valve in the cabinet under the sink where the water lines are. One of these

You could change the angle stop under the sink to attach that tubing. They make the angle stops in a multitude of sizes. Basically designed for an ice maker line. Problem with that is it would be on either the hot or cold side so you'd have to use one or the other for filling your barrel. If you wanted to regulate temp you'd have to go the mixing valve route like suggested above.

Most faucets have a screw off strainer.
You can unscrew the strainer and screw on an adapter.

I wish...I have the one that does not. It really needs to be replaced. There are so many things I could do if I could attach a hose! Getting a new one will take some convincing of my other half. The kitchen is a fairly new remodel and the faucet came with it.

I got the wrong float. all it does it spray all over the place. I might work for an open pool or spa, but not for a barrel. I need to keep looking.

    Doesnt just spray downward?

On a pool or spa they sit in a small "barrel" outside of the pool not actually in it

I found a new valve the seems to work well. it shoots the water straight down into the barrel.

You are right some float valves spray down as well as forward where others just spray down

I have used floats for a swamp cooler that took the same line as my RO unit. They can be found at Home Depot for just a few dollars
