Geos are great fish. I have had threadfins and red head tapajos .. wish I still had them. If I ever come across some nice ones I am sure they will be coming home with me.

This group came from Oliver Lucanus at Below Water in Canada but they are also available from Jeff Rapps at Tangled Up In Cichlids now.

I have a group of sveni I got back in November from Rapps. Here is a video of them I took over a week ago. There are also a few g. neambi, and biotodoma cupido and wavrini from Jeff as well.

Tetras are kind of my thing, and I dont like anything larger than 3-4 inches. You can get such a great affect from a school of tetras, IMO.
I have 20 African tetras ( swim at top 3/4 level in tank) and 20 South American ( inhabit area between substrate and mid-point in aquarium) in this tank.

I have kept a lot of species of tetras in the past myself. After around 45 years of being a fish hobbyist you'll go through a lot of them.Right now I have wild caught red phantom tetras in my 76 gal bow front with 8 albino Dantum angels;come to think of it,there are still lots more to choose from after all these years.

Beautiful tank. If I ever get tired of discus, this would be my next venture.

I'm cringing slightly at bringing back such an old thread, but I was hoping you could tell me what size your Sveni were when you had them? I'm in the middle of a debate as to whether they hit around 6" as adults as listed on most journals, or if they are generally much bigger then this as someone has a 9" - normal, or abnormal, is the discussion!

I still have the sveni- they are 2 years old now.
I have two g. sveni that are around 6 inches from nose to end of tail, 1 that is around 6.5, and 2 that are appx. 7 inches.
A 9 inch g. sveni? Never heard of one getting that big from nose to tail--maybe they are including the trailers in measurement?

Here is an up-to date -video and picture. I also have 3 sub-adult g. neambi's in here that I will be moving to another tank or selling very soon. Getting to crowded at bottom.

I like your set up. How do you keep the plants from being up rooted? Do you have them achored or potted? My 4 geo dicrozoster have reached about 9 inches and the geo abalios got to be about 8" males and 6.5" females. Mine shift the sand so much that plants just would not surive in my tanks.
